1. Is your place of worship listed at grade I, II* or II? 
If so, you do qualify for this grant. If your place of worship is listed grade A, B or C, please contact your English Heritage regional office for advice.

2. Is your place of worship used for public worship at least six times a year? 
You need to be used for public worship at least six times a year.

3. Is your place of worship a Church of England or Roman Catholic cathedral, a monastery, a nunnery, a school or hospital chapel, or privately owned, or a Church of England church where a lay rector is fully responsible for the cost maintaining the chancel?
You do not qualify in these circumstances.

4. Do you provide public access to your place of worship outside the usual hours of worship?   
To qualify for a grant, we will expect you to provide regular advertised public access to the building on at least 40 days a year.

5. Is your project for high-level structural repairs (for example, repairing of roofs, tower, spire, high-level masonry or a system for getting rid of rainwater) or repairs to historic fabric at risk of imminent loss?  
We expect applicants to be involved in such projects.

6. Has the repair work been identified in a recent condition survey (for example, quinquennial inspection) or other professional report as being necessary within the next two years? 
You will not qualify unless you provide a copy of a report which confirms the urgency of the repair work.

7. Can the repairs be carried out under one building contract?
You will not qualify unless you can show that all the work is urgent and you need more than one contract to carry out the work.

8. Is the estimated cost of your project less than £250,000?  
We will only consider you for a grant in exceptional circumstances where you cannot subdivide the work and all the repairs are equally urgent.

9. Is the estimated cost of your project more than £10,000? 
Projects we fund must start at £10,000.

10. Do your unrestricted funds (as set out in your annual accounts) plus any pledges amount to less than 80% of the total costs of urgent high-level structural repairs? 
If not you are unlikely to qualify for a grant.
