FAQs
What happens after I send in a Pre-app form?
When we receive your completed pre-application form it will be date stamped (emailed forms will be printed and date stamped), and a member of the development team will write to you within 10 working days of that date.
How much advice can I receive?
Development Officers can provide assistance before you submit a full application. We are able to provide advice on what HLF seeks in an application, and how to put together a bid, but we are unable to proof read or comment upon draft applications. Please note that while we are happy to assist and give guidance to applicants, we cannot make commitments on behalf of the trustees. Applications are subject to a full assessment and only statements in writing which express the decision of the Trustees can be taken as commitment by the Heritage Lottery Fund. Guidance on specific information is also available by clicking here.
How long does it take to assess my project?
For grants below £50,000 the assessment period is 3 months from receipt of a completed application form. For grants above £50,000 the assessment period is at least 6 months from receipt of a completed application form.
Who can I talk to about my project?
Any member of the Development Team will be happy to discuss your project with you over the telephone. Alternatively, should you wish to have a face-to-face meeting you can book an appointment at one of our surgeries.
Who should sign the application form?
The declaration and contract must not be signed by the main contact person.
How are payments made?
Grants are paid directly into your organisations’ bank account.
