    SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
The EAF software will run on an IBM-compatible computer, with the following minimum specification:

  • Pentium 166 (needed), Pentium 300 (recommended)
  • Microsoft Windows 95, 98, ME, NT, 2000 or XP operating system
  • CD-Rom drive
  • 6 Megabyte (Mb) memory (RAM)
  • 15Mb free space on the hard disk
  • 3 ½ inch floppy disk drive for saving the data you will send to us
  • Printer for printing the declaration and contract pages.

You cannot use this disk with Apple Mac systems. You need Internet Explorer 4 or a later version for web links in the ‘Help’ system – Netscape Navigator will not work with these links.

    INSTALLING THE CD-ROM
Put the CD in you CD-Rom drive. A welcome screen should appear automatically. If it does, you should go to step 2. If the welcome screen does not appear automatically, you should start at step1.
  • 1. Start Windows Explorer. Click on your CD-Rom drive, then double click on the welcome.hta file.
  • 2. Read the introduction page, then choose and read the information for each of the grant programmes that you are interested in. The information available at this stage includes the guidance notes that come with each application form.
  • 3. Click Install Forms in the bottom right-hand corner of the welcome screen. This will start the installation process.
  • 4. The InstallShield welcome screen will be displayed. Click the Next button to go through each dialogue. (If you have an earlier version of EAF Reader installed, InstallShield will ask you if you want to modify, repair or remove it. Choose ‘remove’ to uninstall the old version then start these instructions to install the new version.)
  • 5. EAF Reader files will now be copied to your computer. The destination will be C:/Program Files/EAF unless you chose a different location during installation.
  • 6. You will see a message telling you that the installation is complete. Click Finish. If your computer told you to restart your PC at any time during the installation, you should do so now.

    RUNNING THE PROGRAMME
  • 1. Click Start
  • 2. Move your mouse over Programmes then over EAF, before clicking Heritage Lottery Fund Application Forms.
  • 3. A welcome screen will be displayed. Click on the grant programme that you are interested in. You can now access the guidance notes for that programme or you can load the form by clicking on the button at the bottom of the screen.
  • 4. The form will open at the first page. Read the introduction and then use the Page down key to move onto the next page.

    SUBMITTING YOUR APPLICATION
Please send us your completed floppy disk. Please also send us:
  • The printed-out and signed declaration form and contract
