General programmes
The Heritage Lottery Fund has three general grant programmes through which we expect to make most of our awards – Your Heritage, Heritage Grants and Awards For All.

  • For grants of £5,000-£50,000

  • Are you a local group which needs a grant  for a project involving your local community?

    Targeted programmes
    In addition we also have a number of ‘initiatives’ targeted at particular areas of heritage or participants. The questions below will help direct you to the right programme for your project.

  • Do you need a grant for a project which will involve young people managing and carrying out the project?
    If so, check out YOUNG ROOTS

  • Do you need a grant for the restoration of a ‘public park’ (an existing designed urban or rural green space, the main purpose of which is for informal recreation and enjoyment, including parks, gardens, squares, walks and promenades)?  
    If so, check out PARKS FOR PEOPLE

  • Does your project involve high level structural repairs (for example, repair of roofs, tower, spire, high-level masonry or rainwater disposal systema) to a listed place of worship?
    If so, check out REPAIR GRANTS FOR PLACES OF WORSHIP

  • Do you need a grant for a range of regeneration work to a number of buildings, structures or spaces within a conservation area?

  • Do you need a grant for a range of projects that tackle the needs of an area of historic landscape, whose various elements may be owned by different people but whose landscape identity is recognised by the communities which live, work and visit there?

  • Do you need a grant for developing a museum or gallery collection through a strategic acquisition programmes, related research and public programmes?
