Thinking about archives, people and communities

We will help community groups develop archives of material that is important historically to their local area. This could include heritage material that is created in the normal course of the life of an individual, group or organisation. By heritage material we mean a range of formats – paper, photographs, video, film, sound or records that may only exist in digital form such as Web pages. Projects may be led by community organisations or be partnerships with local archive services.

Essential for...
Community groups who want to develop an archive project or archive organisations planning to work with community groups

Useful for....
Anyone developing a project where material such as oral history records, DVDs, written records may be produced and need to be kept as a record of the project
