This scheme is for urgent repairs to the fabric of the building only and is open to all public places of worship in Northern Ireland that are listed.
This scheme funds such as repairing roofs, towers, spires, high-level masonry or the system for getting rid of rainwater, or repairs to the historic parts of the building that are at risk of being damaged beyond repair. We will not consider applications for other work (including proposals for new facilities, kitchens and toilets) for a grant under this scheme.
We will deal with applications in two batches each year. The closing dates for applications each year are as follows:
Most applications to Repair Grants for Places of Worship must go through a two-stage process. You should normally receive a decision on your first-round grant application within six months of the application closing date. If the decision is favourable we will expect you to submit your detailed second-round application to us within 12 months of the first-round decision.
If you believe that your application can go straight to a second-round decision, then you must contact us and agree it in writing with us first.
We strongly recommend you contact us for advice before making an application. You should complete the pre-application enquiry form and full application online. To do this register and apply.
