John Guinness has worked mainly in the public sector in the Foreign Office, the UN Secretariat, the Cabinet Office and the Department of Energy as well as BNFL.  He has also held a number of Directorships in the private sector.  From an early age he has been interested in the arts, notably portraiture, and until recently was Chairman of the Reviewing Committee of Export of Works of Art for 8 years.  He is currently a Trustee of the Royal Collection, The National Maritime Museum and a Member of the British Library’s Development Committee.
