Susan is a town planner with a specialism in the historic environment and countryside issues. She worked for Westminster City Council and Guildford Borough Councils before joining Woking Borough Council to work on the development plan. In 1989 she joined the Commission for Local Administration, the Ombudsman, initially as an Investigator and then as Assistant Ombudsman and the Commission’s advisor on planning issues. She has extensive experience in training and external speaking and has a mediation qualification. She has served on Government Steering groups examining planning law, microgeneration and sustainability with a particular remit to safeguard proper public participation and to sustain public confidence in the planning system.
Susan has a great interest in children and young people and is involved with fostering services for her home county of Warwickshire.
