Innovation and improvement

This research looks more closely at the practical aspects of HLF funding and is used in helping us make decisions about the strategic direction of the Fund and to make improvements to the decisions we make about supporting heritage.

Applicant and grantee feedback
We carry out regular surveys of recent applicants and grantees to get their feedback on the way that HLF processes work and what can be done to improve them.

Developing our strategy
Some management and practice issues are investigated through more detailed research, often drawing on the results of the impact research.

The value of heritage
We undertake occasional pieces of research looking at the value and importance of heritage in the UK today and the role heritage can play in modern life.

Details on research undertaken before 2004 can be obtained by contacting the research team research@hlf.org.uk.
