Development Work in Priority Areas

Since 2002 we have worked to identify areas which have received little funding, and which may need extra help in applying because they include areas of economic or social disadvantage. One of the roles of the development team is to encourage applications from those areas.

In the North West, the following areas were identified as priorities for support for the period from 2003-2007.  Click on each area to see case studies for that area, further information and local resources.
• Blackpool
• Bolton
• Halton
• Knowsley
• St Helens

Individual members of the development team were linked to each area, and worked actively to promote our funding schemes and help develop project proposals. Thanks to the enthusiasm of local groups and partners, and a wealth of heritage to explore, we’ve now funded some great projects.  During the period 2003-2007 we awarded a total of over £13 million to 97 projects in the five areas.
