Thurrock has 18 miles of Thames river front and is the site of some important historical events, such as Queen Elizabeth the First's famous speech at West Tilbury to soldiers waiting for the Spanish Armada.
Although there have been successful projects funded in Thurrock, it continues to be an area where we would be interested in funding more. We are working with several organisations, as well as conducting our own outreach work with dedicated HLF Development Officers, to help encourage organisations from Thurrock who may be considering whether to apply to us for a grant.
Does your group work with the community? Do you have an idea for a project that may have a heritage theme? Would you like to know more about our grants and how to apply to us?
If so, then please contact us or come along to one of our presentations or surgeries.
The Development Officer for this area is Suzie Spence who works closely with many community groups and will be happy to give you bespoke advice. She can be contacted on 01223 224 880 or by email: suzies@hlf.org.uk.
