We’re always happy to talk to you and will offer advice and support to anyone thinking of applying for an HLF grant.
A good place to start is the How to apply section. We highy recommend that you read our Top Tips and also look through the Worked Examples for the grant programme you are interested in. Once you have read through the information, please register and complete the online pre-application form. A member of the development team will then contact you about your proposal and offer further advice and support. We may suggest a meeting if you have not applied to HLF before, are applying from a priority area or community, or if the project is complex.
Priority area/community workshops
We hold funding workshops and surgeries in our priority areas and for our priority communities around the region. These are open to any group interested in developing an application. Funding fairs
Funding fairs are larger events usually attended by many different funding organisations. They are a good way of finding out more about funding opportunities that may be of interest to you in an informal atmosphere. Funding fairs usually include presentations where you can learn more about certain funders and the chance to receive 1-2-1 guidance on making an application. Attendees are also able to just browse the stalls if they prefer.
