The Borough of Burnley has received less HLF funding than other areas in the North West, despite its rich and fascinating past. We are working with
Burnley CVS and
Burnley Borough Council to encourage more applications.
Does your group work with people in the area? Would you like to run a project that could help bring the community together and create local pride? A heritage project could do this in a fun and creative way.
Burnley was once the largest producer of cotton cloth, but there is more to the area than mills and mines. The stories and traditions of its diverse communities, its listed buildings and rural landscapes, and unique places from the South Pennines moorland to the Leeds Liverpool Canal corridor are all part of Burnley's rich heritage.
Whichever aspect of Burnley’s heritage you choose to explore, we want to hear from you. We can meet with you in Burnley and help you to develop your project. Call Iain, Karen or Rebecca on 0161 831 0850 or email
