South Lanarkshire school children learn about local mining heritage

 Falkirk

At the junction of the Forth and Clyde and the Union Canals, Falkirk proved pivotal as a centre of heavy industry during the Industrial Revolution, particularly in the production of iron and steel. The area dates back to Roman times and is the home of the famous Antonine Wall, which was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2008.

Whichever aspect of Falkirk's heritage you choose to explore, Lorraine Kika is the Development Officer working closely with community organisations, Falkirk CVS and key partners within Falkirk Council to promote the work of HLF. Lorraine attends regular funding fairs and offers advice sessions in the area.

Please contact Lorraine on lorrainek@hlf.org.uk or direct line 0131 240 1586.
