Do you have a good idea for a heritage project? Our team in Scotland offers advice and support to anyone thinking of applying for an HLF grant. Whatever amount of funding your project requires we recommend that you contact us as soon as possible.
The first thing you should do is go to the How to Apply page and choose the programme best suited to your project. Once you have read the information on that programme, and decided that it fits your project, you should register and submit the online pre-application advice form.
A member of the development team will contact you about your proposal and offer further advice and support. We may suggest an advice surgery if you have not applied to HLF before, if you are applying from one of our priority areas, or if the project is complex.
We hold advice surgeries in our office in Edinburgh on the last Wednesday of the month. Once you have submitted a pre-application form you can sign up for a surgery by contacting our office on 0131 225 9450 or email scotland@hlf.org.uk.
Upcoming advice surgery dates:
- 28 March 2012
- 25 April 2012
- 30 May 2012
- 27 June 2012
- 25 July 2012

Funding fairs
Members of the HLF team attend funding fairs and seminars throughout Scotland. They are an ideal opportunity to seek advice on funding options in an informal atmosphere. Normally the events include workshops as well which provide more detailed guidance on HLF funding.
If you would like us to come to your funding event then please call 0131 225 9450 or email scotland@hlf.org.uk.
Help with funding
