Oral history projects are a great way of giving ordinary people a voice and bringing the past to life. From recording accounts of traditional farming methods to revealing the history of care for people with learning disabilities, we support projects that document everyone’s history.
The Heritage Lottery Fund has given over £6million to more than 260 oral history projects in the West Midlands. These have captured hundreds of personal stories, and helped people from diverse communities across the region learn about their own and others’ heritage.
