The lighthouse and the sea at Orford Ness

The bird is the word at Langland Moss

The Langland Moss group is inviting families to build a number of bird boxes that will be numbered and installed at Langlands Moss, the numbered boxes will be tracked online and their progress observed as birds start to move in and use them.

Langland Moss group are inviting local families to join them in a fun, free and educational afternoon building bird boxes at the courtyard of Calderglen Country Park on Sunday the 21 October between 1pm and 4pm. The following Sunday, 28 October, the group will meet at Langlands Square at 2pm until 4pm for a bulb planting & general activity day and are inviting any local people to join them and take part, helping to conserve East Kilbride's best kept secret.

This activity day comes as the group received a grant from CSV allowing them to purchase bird boxes, bulbs for planting out on their wildflower meadow and wildlife survey materials.

The group are also excited to announce that their website has been completely revamped, the new interface is much more user-friendly and includes a large amount of information for all interested parties, the group would like to extend thanks to John Messingham for helping to design & build the new look website which can be viewed at
