Project Snapshot

Project title:

 Saving a building at risk

Programme: Heritage Grants
Applicant: London Borough of Redbridge
Grant awarded: £1,960,000

Having lain empty for nearly 15 years, Valentines Mansion in London had a very uncertain future. This late-17thcentury house and parkland was on the Buildings at Risk register until a partnership between local people and Redbridge Council came to the rescue. Now fully refurbished, it doubles as a successful conference centre and a recreational and cultural venue for the community.
