Project title:

 The Royal Hall, Harrogate

Programme: Heritage Grants
Applicant: Harrogate Borough Council
Grant awarded: £6,000,000

In its heyday the Royal Hall in Harrogate was described as a “glittering palace of gold”, but much of its splendour had eroded by the time it partially closed in 2002. Since then, highly-skilled craftsmen have worked to restore the interior of the building to its original decoration, and it has now fully re-opened as one of the leading live entertainment venues in the north of England.
