In 1917 poets Wilfred Owen and Siegfried Sassoon were both treated for shell shock at Craiglockhart War Hospital, now part of the campus of Edinburgh Napier University.
Thanks to a grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF), the university’s
War Poets Collection is now open to the public, showcasing audio-visual displays and original documents. Talks and tours are available on request, and online materials help school children across Scotland interpret the war and its effects on soldiers.
