Access to 51-53 Adelaide Street

  • Our building sits on the corner of Adelaide Street and Clarence Street. It is accessed from Adelaide Street.
  • The blue front door is operated by a buzzer system.
  • The buzzer is at the right hand side of the door. Select the button of Heritage Lottery Fund. Someone will answer your buzzer and open the door.
  • There is a lift in the lobby of the building. There are three steps up to the main lift and there is a wheelchair lift at these steps.
  • We are on the third floor. There is level access to the office from the lift.
  • There is an accessible toilet on the third floor.
  • The door on the third floor is locked. You will need to ring the bell to gain access to the office.

If you need assistance, please let us know in advance or ask the reception desk in the lobby to phone up when you arrive. We can meet you from the ground floor front door.

If you have any questions or concerns about access, please speak to the HLF officer you are meeting with.

From Belfast Central Station (average 10-15 minutes)

  • Leave central station by the main entrance, head left/and walk down East Bridge Street. 
  • At the bottom of the road cross at the traffic lights to the central isle and then cross again to the opposite side of the road.
  • There should be a large building with green window frames on your right.
  • Turn into Hamilton Street. Take the fifth turn left onto Adelaide Street. (Please note that Hamilton Street becomes Sussex Place and then Franklin Street, but this is one continuous street.)
  • Continue along Adelaide Street until the junction with Clarence Street.
  • Our building is on the right-hand side of Adelaide Street on the corner, just after the junction with Clarence Street. 

From Great Victoria Street (Europa) Train and Bus Station (average 10 minutes)

  • Go out the main entrance via the small shopping mall on to Great Victoria Street.
  • Cross the road at the traffic lights outside the Europa Hotel.
  • Turn left and continue to the main junction.
  • Turn right at that junction into Howard Street.
  • Take the fourth turn right onto Adelaide Street. (Please note that Howard Street becomes Donegal Square South at the back of Belfast City Hall but this is one continuous street.)
  • Continue along Adelaide Street until the junction with Clarence Street.
  • Our building is on the right-hand side of Adelaide Street on the corner, just after the junction with Clarence Street. 

From the George Best Belfast City Airport

  • Take a taxi to the office – at approximately £10 per single journey (including a service charge).
  • Take the airport bus to Great Victoria Street (Europa) Bus Station and follow the directions above. 
  • The airport bus to/from George Best Belfast City Airport is Service 600.  Single journey is £2 and journey time is approximately 15 minutes. For timetable information, visit the Translink website or contact 028 9066 3030.

From the Belfast International Airport

  • Take a taxi to the office – approx £25 per single journey.
  • Take the airport bus to Great Victoria Street (Europa) Bus Station and follow the directions above. 
  • The airport bus to/from Belfast International Airport is Service 300. A single journey is £7.50 and the journey time is approximately 30 minutes. For timetable information, visit the Translink website or contact 028 9066 3030.

Driving

  • There is on street metered parking in and around Adelaide Street but this has a maximum two-hour stay (Ormeau Avenue four-hour stay) and can be busy.
  • The nearest car parks to the office can be found:
    • off Ormeau Avenue – outside parking
    • off Dublin Road – NCP multi-storey
