Access to Heritage Lottery Fund’s Cardiff office
There is one step from the pavement into James William House to the entrance hall. If you require level access please let HLF staff know, beforehand if possible, or use the buzzer at the main door. The Heritage Lottery Fund office is located on the third floor which is accessed via a lift found in the entrance hall. There are accessible toilets on the landing next to the lift on the third floor.

The Heritage Lottery Fund Cardiff office is located in the city centre at James William House, 9 Museum Place. The office is about a 20 minute walk from Cardiff Central train and bus stations.
On foot or cycling
The Heritage Lottery Fund Cardiff office is 20 minutes walk from Cardiff Central Bus and Train Station. A map of walking/cycle routes is available from Google Maps.
By train and bus
From Cardiff Central Bus Station take bus number 53 or 85 to the National Museum. After alighting at the Museum, turn left onto Park Place, cross over the road and take the first right onto Museum Place. James William House is located on the left where the road turns the corner.
From Cardiff Central Train Station take one of the Valley Lines trains from Platform 6 and alight at Cathays train station (two stops). A single fare costs £1.90 and a return £2.80. On exiting Cathays station turn left on to Park Place and take the first left on to Museum Place. James William House is located on the left where the road turns the corner.

There’s a taxi rank outside Cardiff Central train station. A journey should take approximately eight minutes and costs between £5 and £8.
The Heritage Lottery Fund Offices are located in close proximity to Cardiff University Cathays Park Campus and the National Museum of Wales - please follow signs for these establishments from all directions. Our postcode is CF10 3BD for satellite navigation.
We can only offer car parking facilities at James William House for those with access needs and who tell us in advance so we can book the space. There are Cardiff Council parking spaces along Museum Place and Park Place which cost up to £5 for the day.
Blue Badge parking scheme
Cardiff City Council operates a Blue Badge parking scheme. A Blue Badge allows you to park free of charge in on-street bays such as pay and display and designated disabled parking bays. There are a small number of Blue Badge parking spaces near the office. View a list of current bays:
