How to get in touch with us

43 replies [Jump to last post]

We hope that you'll find the community easy and intuitive to use. However, if you do need a hand using any of the features, or spot a technical issue with using the site, then we are here to help.

Please check to see if we've already already provided an answer to your question in the Community help, guidelines and technical issues forum.

If we haven't, you could either start a new discussion in this forum, or get in touch directly and we'll get back to you as soon as I can. There's lots of different ways you can get in touch with us, depending on what you need:

  • For queries about using the community part of the site (including technical issues), or to report something on the community as inappropriate, you should contact Amy, the community manager, via the digital team.
  • If you are experiencing issues with using other parts of the HLF website, please contact the digital team.
  • If your query is related to an application for a grant or using the application form system, you should contact our grant enquiries team.
  • If you'd like to get in touch with your local HLF team, you can find the relevant office contact details on our Contact us page.
  • If you have a press enquiry, you should contact the press team.

  5. Hi Amy. I added a piece in Anna Jarvis’ ‘First World War Centenary projects involving young people’ discussion on 26th June but it never showed up. Is it lost in the system somewhere or will I need to write it again? Robin Clutterbuck

  7. You’re right Robin, it’s not there. Sometimes the reason for comments going AWOL is people accidentally click the ‘Confirm my Subscriptions’ button instead of the ‘Submit’ button… I’ve had a look in the system and there’s no record of you making a comment on the 26th (ie: it’s not awaiting moderation, or anything) so all I can suggest is that you try posting the comment again. Thank you, Amy

  9. Hi Amy
I have difficulty reading pages that are set out like this one. I need high visibility of icons/links to ensure I pick up directions etc. I want to post a question, but cannot work our how to do that. Please advise.

  11. Hi Amina, sorry to hear you're having trouble posting.

At the moment we have six programme-specific forums for our Catalyst, Collecting Cultures, Landscape Partnerships, Parks for People, Skills for the Future and Young Roots grants. If your question relates to one of those grant programmes, click on the appropriate link in the previous sentence to be taken to that programme forum. When you get to the forum, you will see a prompt (in blue text) under the introductory text to 'Start a new discussion' - click on that, enter a title (subject), type your question in the 'body' field, then scroll right to the bottom of the page and click the 'save' button.

If your question is not related to one of the six programmes which have their own forums, you might want to hold fire for a little while until we officially open the general discussion forum (which is happening very soon), and post your question there.

You might like to sign up to the Online Community eBulletin to be notified as soon as the general forum is open.

If you have any further questions, don't hesitate to ask, I'm always here to help.

    thanks,

    Amy

  13. Hi I’ve left a post recently on the forum, but it wouldn’t accept either Youtube or Vimeo addresses for posting a video.

  15. Hi Martin, sorry to hear you're having trouble with the videos. I've just done a few test posts adding both YouTube and Vimeo links to comments and as part of a new thread, and they're working fine for me (from admin and general user accounts).

Are you using the full URL, or the embed code? Because it's the URL in the web page address bar that you should use.

When you attempt to post, is the text in the post/comment appearing and not the videos, or are you getting some kind of error message and nothing at all is being posted?

Also, remember that while anyone can read forum posts (whether they're registered/logged-in or not) videos can only be seen if you're logged in.

If the above is no help, please come back to me and I'll see what else I can do.

    thanks,

    Amy

  17. Hi Martin - your thread is now live: https://www.hlf.org.uk/community/general-discussions/motion-capture-danc…

For little technical gramlin meant it wasn't assigned to a specific forum - fixed that and it's now showing, with video and image

    :)

  19. Hi, Amy,

I have tried to post three times today, and when I click the ‘submit’ button the page has jumped back to the Our Communities landing page, and I am required to log in again.
So, have my three posts been lost or are they awaiting moderation before publishing?
I know I’m not the worlds fastest typer but is it possible the page is timing out?
I hope you can help. Cheers
