How to make families feel part of your museum

The people behind Kids in Museums - who work with museums to help them welcome and include families, teenagers and children - have created a mini manefesto to help all museums do just that.

They've boiled down all their interviews and research into eigth key points:

  1. Reach out
  2. Get to know families
  3. Seek to reflect
  4. Be positive
  5. Make it easy and comfortable
  6. Be accessible
  7. Tell your story
  8. Communicate well

You can read the full mini manifesto in the attached PDF (you'll need to be logged in to see/download it). It's a handy little complement to their 20-point main manifesto.

Of course, we'd love to hear from you about the successful steps you've taken to ensure your museum is as welcoming and family-friendly as it can be. Please share in the comments below.
