Project Manager

Hi, I am currently in the process of applying for a heritage grant and we are considering hiring a project manager. A member of our friends group has said that he will project manage for £350 per day. Can I offset this as a non-cash contribution or would it be classed as volunteer time? we are estimatiing that he will need 10 days for the development stage and 40 days for the delivery stage. Total of £17,500. He doesnt wish to be paid for this, so i just need to know where to include it, and can it be off set as part of our contribution.

Many thanks in advance, Bev.

  1. Hi I would suggest it's volunteer time as they are doing a role without payment - professional rate which is equivalent to £350 per day - a very generous offer from your group member. It is probably worth checking with HLF officer re vol or kind allocation to be on the safe side. It may be worth checking their capacity to devote the time required as relying soley on volunteer time for project management is quite a brave move or are they having more of an overseeing role with paid worker doing the day to day work? Also are they the best person for the job irrespective of the offer.

    Good luck with the bid
