Events and networking opportunities

Whilst an online community is a great way to connect with likeminded people and network, there's nothing quite like meeting someone in real life.

Do you know about a workshop, conference or talk taking place that would be useful for people working on a fundraising campaign to attend? Perhaps you're running an event yourself that you'd like to promote here? Share the details below…

You might also know of past events which are still available to watch online, such as The Birmingham Heritage Debate: Heritage & Philanthropy Turning Public Passion into Pounds held by The Heritage Alliance in June 2014 .

  1. In case anyone finds it useful, the Institute of Fundraising (IoF) are holding the Fundraising for arts and heritage organisations conference on March 16 2015 at Toynbee Hall, London. Details can be found here.

You can also find out about upcoming opportunities from the HLF funded Catalyst Umbrella project, Giving to Heritage, run by the Heritage Alliance on the IoF's main events pages.

  3. I've also come across details of a fundraising webinar on Thursday 29 January on turning Facebook 'likes' into donations. It's being run by the Charities Aid Foundation and you can find more details on their website:–fundraising/fundraising-services/tools-and-guides/fundraising-webinars/convert-likes-into-donations.aspx.

  7. Yesterday The Centre for Philanthropy at the University of Kent held a one-day conference on Understanding Philanthropy. A very helpful report summarising tweets from each session has been pulled together by Howard Lake at UK Fundraising.

If you didn't attend, or if you did but want to see what others were saying on social media throughout the day, the report can be found here on the UK Fundraising website.
