Catalyst: Small Grants
They aimed to encourage more private giving to culture and heritage, and to build the capacity and skills of cultural and heritage organisations to fundraise from private donors, corporate sources, trusts and foundations.
Catalyst: Small grants were developed to support heritage organisations to carry out a range of capacity building activities to improve their ability to fundraise and increase financial sustainability.
£1.13million was awarded to 125 organisations through two rounds of Catalyst: Small grants. Grants of between £3,000 and £10,000 were awarded to enable organisations to carry out a wide range of capacity building activity and to test new and creative fundraising methods. The first round of awards were made in June 2013 and the second in October 2013.
