Gressenhall Farm and Workhouse says thanks to National Lottery players
On Sunday 19 March, National Lottery players and their families can visit Gressenhall Farm and Workhouse for free.

If you play the National Lottery you’ve already made an incredible impact on the museum. Money from every ticket you buy is awarded to projects such as the Voices from the Workhouse project which has seen the complete redevelopment of the site’s Grade II-listed Georgian workhouse buildings.

Now, ahead of its reopening for the 2017 season, Gressenhall is saying a huge thank you with an exclusive preview for National Lottery players.

You can:

  • Explore the new galleries and find out about what life was like within the workhouse walls
  • Speak to costumed characters to hear the stories of those who lived and worked there over its 200-year history
  • Get creative with your own artistic responses to the new displays
  • Say hello to the Suffolk Punch horses and discover the secrets of a traditional working farm
  • Play on the thrilling adventure playground

Robyn Llewellyn, Head of HLF East of England, said: “We’re delighted that Gressenhall Farm and Workhouse will be showing their appreciation for National Lottery players who make it possible for us to invest in the heritage that communities care most about, including the wonderful Voices from the Workhouse project.”

Steve Miller, Head of Norfolk Museums Service, said: “This will be a great day out for all the family and a chance for us to say thank you to National Lottery players who’ve enabled us to realise our plans for reinterpreting this important building. We’re looking forward to welcoming lots of visitors who might not have been to Gressenhall before, or not for some years, and showing them all that this exciting museum has to offer.”
