Here are some of our favourite HLF-supported great places for you to visit:

Woodberry Wetlands, London

Woodberry Wetlands is an oasis of wildlife, biodiversity and calm in the heart of Stoke Newington. Head over for a break from city life, and enjoy a slice of nature in London’s backyard.

RSPB Middleton Lakes, Staffordshire

If you love birds, or simply enjoy a stroll through the countryside, Middleton Lakes is the place for you. The site is renowned for its wildlife, and is designed for families – making it the perfect place to bring your young ones to explore this summer.

Ilkley Moor, Yorkshire

Whether you’re a local or a passing traveller, you’re bound to be impressed by the beauty of Ilkley Moor.

Check out the Friends of Ilkley Moor’s selection of guided walks, and enjoy this beautiful part of Yorkshire.

The Sill, Northumberland

The Sill is Northumberland National Park’s brand new visitor centre. It’s the perfect place to start your adventure, with incredible views, craft exhibitions and outdoor activities for all ages.

RSPB Cors Ddyga, Anglesey

The spectacular RSPB Cors Ddyga has only recently been revealed to the public. Discover its coal-mining history, and see the home of Wales’ first pair of breeding bitterns in over 30 years. If you’re a nature lover and in Wales this summer, this should be top of your list.

Inner Forth, Firth of Forth

If you’re a little further north, why not visit the Inner Forth Landscape initiative? You’ll find a huge range of habitats, from rivers to coastal margins, and can take part in events like wildlife identification workshops and family nature clubs.

Ring of Gullion, South Armagh
