Using social media

Social media is a great way both to acknowledge your grant initially and keep people up to date with your project’s progress.

HLF makes continuous use of social media and is more than happy to help you share information about your project.

You can follow us on TwitterFacebook, and Instagram and use our hashtag #HLFsupported.

Please always acknowledge National Lottery players' support using the hashtag #NationalLottery when posting content related to your grant.

We have created a National Lottery Twibbon that you can add to your Twitter profile.

And also some suggested posts:

  • On Twitter: Brilliant news! We’ve been awarded £xx from @heritagelottery for our heritage project thanks to money raised by #NationalLottery players!
  • On Facebook and Instagram: Brilliant news! We’ve been awarded £xx from @heritagelotteryfund for our heritage project thanks to money raised by #NationalLottery players!

There's a “We've got National Lottery funding” graphic, an animation and a “Thank You” board which you can dowload below.

And why not join HLF’s Online Community. You can tell us about project progress but also be part of an active conversation with other grantees and people in the heritage and related sectors, sharing knowledge and picking up advice.

Top tip – Many MPs are now on social media so why not Tweet or tag your local MP so they know about your grant and can help spread the good news.
