Project description: This project hopes to create a site plan that preserves and re-tells the story of a Greek refugee, Basil Patras Zula, fleeing from the Turks in the nineteenth century Greek War of Independence and being welcomed and settling into the local community.

Project description: Coiste is undertaking a project to explore the heritage of internment since the establishment of the state and its impact on families in the north of Ireland during the conflict. The projectaims to raise awareness of the history of internment and to provide a deeper understanding of the past that can inform our understanding of the present.

'The Old Whitewell' Twentieth Century Lives on Cave Hill
Applicant: Multi Media Heritage
Project description: Using unique film footage relating to the community known as 'The Whitewell' situated on Cave Hill, Multi Media Heritage will explore migration in and out of the community and gather stories to preserve the social history held in many families. The project will capture engaging stories of great courage, stoicism and humour about how adults and children coped through traumatic times including experiences of poverty, partition, war, emigration, and the troubles.

Inspiring Textiles at Castle Espie

Project description: This community project focuses on improving mental health and wellbeing linked to migration trends of migratory birds and whooper swans. The project will create a large wall hanging including heritage yarn and textile based crafts and skills such as crochet, weaving, punch needle, dorset buttons and surface stitching. This large scale piece will take a significant space within the Castle Espie visitor centre and cafe area.

Project description: This project will explore the history/heritage/contexts of Northern Ireland through the form of the small literary magazine. This project focuses on the HUMAN archive. The project will enhance the archive adding a wide a range of other literary magazines from Northern Ireland/featuring NI writers, including the Hackett Collection.

Exhibition room (Sir Samuel Kelly project)

Project description: The project is centred round the Sir Samuel Kelly lifeboat, which is of iconic importance to Donaghadee because of its role in rescuing survivors from the wreck of the Princess Victoria car ferry in 1953. This project aims to place a temporary building to serve as an exhibition room in front of the boat shelter.

Project description: This project aims to create a team of Youth Champions who will receive training and guidance to take an active role in protecting and promoting the wildlife and biodiversity of Black Mountain. They will receive training to improve their skills and knowledge in ecology, biodiversity, wildlife management, and conservation techniques.
