Nikki was Chief Executive of Ulster Architectural Heritage from 2014 to 2021, and has been an Expert Advisor to the Ministerial Advisory Group Northern Ireland since 2019. Most recently Nikki has worked for the National Trust across England Wales and Northern Ireland as Senior National Consultant – Heritage & Climate.

In the role of Chief Executive of Ulster Architectural Heritage, Nikki gained first-hand experience of the management of a charitable organisation, including operations, governance, finance, fundraising and programming. She worked with policy and legislation relating to the historic built environment, authoring a number of UAH reports for the Northern Ireland government.

Nikki has experience of planning, developing, and managing heritage projects that promote the conservation and regeneration of historic buildings, in local, national, and cross border contexts. With UAH, Nikki led the development of the Heritage at Risk Register, in partnership with the Department for Communities, and the introduction of Heritage Angel Awards to Northern Ireland supported by the Andrew Lloyd Webber Foundation. With National Trust she has worked on climate adaptation projects and guidance, developing ways to help those looking after historic buildings and places to adapt to the impacts of climate change.

As a committee member, Nikki would like to use her knowledge of architectural heritage, conservation, and climate change, together with her keen interest in public engagement to help support resilience, inclusivity, and creativity in the heritage sector in Northern Ireland.
