Mackintosh remains one of the UK’s best loved artists and designers, with his unique and instantly recognisable style.

In honour of his anniversary, we’re looking at some of our favourite National Lottery-supported Mackintosh attractions in his home town of Glasgow.

The Lighthouse, Mitchell Lane

The Lighthouse houses the Mackintosh Centre, a great place for anyone to start exploring the designer’s life and works. With comprehensive information about his early life, work and legacy, this is for anyone looking to start their Mackintosh journey.

Queen's Cross Church, Garscube Road

The only church designed by Mackintosh, and the home of the Charles Rennie Mackintosh society, this hidden gem is definitely worth a visit! Visit before 24 June for a chance to see the Museum of the Moon, a travelling artwork by the UK artist Luke Jerram.

Mackintosh at the Willow, Sauchiehall Street

One of Glasgow’s most famous locations, Mackintosh at the Willow is recognised internationally as the only surviving tea room designed entirely by Mackintosh.

Recently restored, the iconic attraction will be opening its doors once again from July 2018. Why not pop in for afternoon tea and some Mackintosh inspiration?

Glasgow School of Art, Renfrew Street

Learn about Mackintosh’s formative years as an architect and designer at the Mackintosh Furniture Gallery at the Glasgow School of Art, and admire the exterior of the Mackintosh Building, one of the designer’s masterpieces.

Hunterian Museum, Hillhead Street

Step inside Mackintosh’s world in the Mackintosh House at the Hunterian Museum. The main interiors from the house the designer and his family lived in have been lovingly recreated here, making the museum a must-see for any fan of the designer visiting Glasgow.
